04' 42k miles I've owned the truck just shy of 2 months and the only mods are the six gun bundle. Got a code 22 today on my PDA ( Manifold Absolute Pressure output voltage out of range) this absolutely means nothing to me as I'm new to diesels, turbos, etc. Called the shop, says they can't get me in until morning. I was suppose to be heading out West on a snowmobile trip hauling a pretty good size enclosed trailer.
My questions:
Should the above code be a cause for major concern?
Any thoughts or suggestions what could be causing the code?
Can I go ahead and make the trip and take in when I return for the trip?
Any immediate feedback or thoughts is greatly appreciated. I'm just sick to my stomach, always have been a ford guy and gave alot of thought to getting a ford pstroke. finally gave in and bought and now this....
Is that the whole code "code 22"? I've never heard of it myself, and I tried to look it up in the 6.0L Bible but I couldn't find it. Is it causing your engine light to come on? Is the truck idleing or running different. If you plan on pulling with it tomorrow morning, I'd take it out this afternoon and put it under load and see if it acts different. It's a gamble, I've gotten rogue codes on my '04, but I would shut the truck off and then turn it back on. Then I would clear the DTC's. If I had a problem the code would come back on. I'm sure there will be a tech. come on here in a minute with an explanation, but that's all I can tell you. I think you're OK if it hasn't set the engine light off or made the truck run different.
Snowcrazy---you have a vehicle that is completely computer controlled. The problem starts in diagnostics when you consider there is something that modifies those controls (six gun bundle). You cant blame it on ford until you have eliminated your modification.
Don't get wrong, I'm not trying to blame ford for anything. I love this truck and believe in ford, that's why I didn't go bowtie or the other guy.
I was just soliciting some feedback as to what may have popped the code and what the code actually meant and my level of concern if something is actually wrong.
The engine light did not come on, everything seemed to be running fine when the alarm went off.... I've since then have cleared the code, put it under a load and haven't had the code reappear.
Fluke?? I don't know, mechanic says so.. and says to drive it and don't worry.
