I'll drive it to you for airfare from Philly, fuel/consumable reimbursement with receipts, and $200 per 0-12 hour driving shifts. So like, a thousand, rough estimate. Haha
You are going to be miserable in a reg cab for more than an hour ride
I am 6'4" and 240 with a 34" inseam. Reg cabs are too cramped for me. I know, I have 5 but none of them I have out for more than an hour at a clip. They range from bucket seats, 40/20/40 and a bench.
Look for a super or crewcab, these OBS trucks were not know for their leg room
My crewcab and supercab are FAR more comfortable
hell, my 04 supercab ranger is more comfortable than the regular cab OBSs
It depends too on what seating position you find to be most comfortable. I'm 6'0", 175# with a 34" inseam. When I had an '85 F-250 regular cab with a bench I never had the bench seat all the way back. But then again, when I drive my 5'6" wife's '05 Escape I don't move the seat back. She is most comfortable driving with the seat back farther than most people her height, and I like it farther forward than most.
Thanks for all the input. I'm still going to buy it, I just can't resist the price and having a rust free truck in Ohio. I am having it shipped though instead of driving it cross country.
The PO was a smoker so the seats are not in great shape anyway. I'll toy with some modifications and different setups. I think I'll be able to come up with something. Going to try 1 inch spacers 1st and go from there.
I sincerely hope it doesn't come down to it but I'm sure I can always sell it back here and get my money back if all else fails.
The truck arrived from CO late Saturday night and I drove it 300 miles Sunday to buy some interior parts including 2 bench seats.
I installed the 1st one tonight and it's worse than the beat up original 40/20/40 seat. It's out of a '94 XLT and it has the pull down center armrest and lumbar bags. It's in great condition and comfy but it pushes me to far into the dash.
I also picked up a 1995 XL bench seat. No contours or lumbar just a basic bench seat. It was still installed in a cab when I got it and it seemed like a good fit but it's really dirty. Gonna try taking the cover off and cleaning it then test fit this one next.
By the way the truck is amazing, one of the best sight unseen deals I've made.
