Movin on up.....

I am in the market now for a new 6.7L diesel. I have an 04 F350 6.0L and I think I am going to downgrade to an F250. But here is the question. My wife and myself are expecting to have kids soon, and my worry was can i fit a baby seat in a super cab. I told her that I think i may have to upgrade to a crew cab. I have never been fond of "4 door crew cab" I have always had super cab or extended cab trucks. Anyone with little half pints out there that have a super cab and seat the child safely and comfortably? Let me know. Thanks Ford Brothers and Sisters!

Once you go crew cab you will never go back. I have had two car seats in mine for the grandkids.

3 teenage boys can fit back there.

You need the crewcab.

You have to have room for the hethens and all the crap that travels with them. You definately need a crew cab. You'll like it. Very roomy and the extra space is handy specially for a happily married young couple, hint, hint.

Brandon, What's not to like about this...you need the crew cab. Very comfy in the back, plus the half-pints grow fast and they make friends.

Why the downsize to the F250?

A SRW F350 is virtually identical to the F250 with the exception of an overload leaf in the rear spring pack and slightly taller blocks on top of the rear axle. You lose nothing and gain extra capacity should you ever need it.

My latest truck is a crew cab. Nothing better imho. I've owned numerous trucks and nothing beats it. I can haul tons of gear and tons of family and still be comfy!

I'll throw in my support for the crew cab also. I will never have anything less again. 95 percent of the time there's nothing in the back seats. But the 5 percent of the time something is back there, it is worth it's weight in gold. You will not regret it.

My F250 has the overloads and only lacks the "rated" capacity. This reduces my registration cost but maintains the same actual carrying capacity of the F350 SRW.

I always thought the Super Cab was enough room, until I got my grand kids into the back. With my wife and I, it's all good. Throw a couple of car seats in the back, suddenly that Super Cab starts to get pretty small. Throw a few teenage kids back there, leg room gets pretty limited.

I have a super cab and recently helped my daughter get car seats installed for their child. There is no way today's car seat will fit back there.

She had to put it in the middle of the back seat of her Escape because there wasn't enough room directly behind the seats. These things are huge.

I vote Crewcab, or Excursion . I am biased, because we have both!

I agree!

If I ever get married and have a kid or two, I'm getting the wife an '05 6.0 Excursion I will stud and turn into a daily drivable beast. This way she has plenty of room to haul the kids and if she ever gets hit or hits something, she and/or the kids will be fine.

Yes, I will already have an '01 Excursion, but that's mine.
