More pics had a bit of time to work on it, injectors, and glow plugs are in no pics of that though.
The old engine
The new semi complete
Haa haa haa, those are some crazy colors Adam. I'd love to see the look on a smog techs face here in Ca when he pop's the hood and see's this engine. Well, then again knowing California as well as I do, he'd probably tell yah, with a severe lisp, "No-no-no-no Your Color's are Clashing"
No offense my friend, just having some fun is all.
I do like the polished Hpop and reservoir. I actually considered polishing my BTS twins, but figured that the last thing I needed was to call attention to it, so I left it alone. Nice job Pal..
How about this one for when you go through a DOT stop...Driver pissed me off, so when I had his engine out for an oil pain, I added a little paint for him.
I paint with what I had ran out of JD green but had Chevy orange lol..., oh the yellow was from before when I rebuild the turbo, no paint this time as is I barely had time to work on this thing today and not very long either.

Can't say if I'd be initially pissed or not if you did that to me, but I see the humor in everything and after thinking it over, that would've made me a lifetime customer of yours!
OK time to bring this one back from the dead. After more than a year I finally started to put together the engine that's going into my OBS.
Well enough Chit-chat here's some pics.
Rods with new machined bushings
Reworked heads, there was a leak in my storage room and got to the freshly resurfaced head rusted, after much debate I decided to use different heads.
Dont worry about the damaged surface, it wont affect performace or CR at all, according to my machinest.
Bare block, with machined internals etc, gettong it ready for prep.
Polished crank ready to be installed.
Assembled block with .030 pistons.
Head gasket installed and ready to dlap the heads on.
Heads on and painted with Kitty yellow lol..
Painted timing cover, and yes im doung the Spuper duty conversion on my OBS, an E-fuel is kit is $$$
Painted fuel lines as well.
Painted the new oip cooler.
New oil pump housing painted as well.
Oil cooler end caps painted as well.
New injector cups with 620 Loctite for ELC compatability to use on my OBS.
All seals repaced in the long block. Painted black to pop out.
Getting ready to install intake plenums.
And out with the old.
Will upload more pics, I already have the oil pan, valve covers and miscellaneous parts installed in the engine. My old engine and on the background the **** kicker.
I wish I had the time, money, knowledge and space to do something like you are. I think I would really enjoy seeing the fruits of my labor and might just run the truck without a hood...
I have a question though in regards to the yellow paint on the engine. Where the pedestal goes for the turbo, there looks to be a lot of yellow paint in the mounting and oil holes, is the paint being in there not a problem?
Mine is a 01, 115K miles. Not a rust spot on her not even the oil pan. Interior is near perfect. My engine pulling days are over. If it comes to that, the old girl will be out to the curb for the scrap guy. I will go get me another/different old girl for another 10 years. vehicles are money pits, if she acts up to where i have to pull the heart out. she gone

Get rid of a good truck over an engine pull? Odd....
