I just placed my order for a new 2017 Super Duty and have received the VIN number with the planned build date. Can anyone tell me how to track it from this point? Any help would be appreciated!
The first one "Cotus" can track your order from the time it is accepted at Ford all the way through delivery. That's the good news. The bad news is that it is a "Beta" program and not all vehicles are entered into it. Keep trying it (I would use your VIN number) and it may show up but do not be concerned if it doesn't as that just means your truck is not in "Cotus".
The second one "Research Maniacs" will let you pull up your window sticker and view it ONCE IT IS GENERATED.
The third one does the same thing except it is directly from FORD. Simply add your Vin number where the "X's" are and then copy and paste the URL to your browser.
The last one is ETIS. You can navigate it and enter your VIN. It will give a generic "Nonsense" date as your build date until the truck is actually built. It will also give some very general info about your truck. Once the truck is actually built ETIS will populate with a valid build date. Then, a few days later all of your options and build specs will populate as well. However, this list is known to be inaccurate so don't worry about what it says. Your truck will be built according to what the window sticker says.
Now, based on the dates you are listing I would not expect to see a window sticker before 4/16 - more likely around 4/20. Usually the window sticker is generated about 8 days before the actual build date. It can vary by a few days though. There are two dates on the window sticker. One is at the very bottom on the white border. Ignore it. The one you want to look at is in a white box near the bottom of the sticker. I think it is under the "Special Order" box or something like that. Figure 8-10 days from that date is your build date and then you can start checking ETIS. Good luck. It'll seem like a long wait but it'll come quicker than you think. My truck was built exactly 4 weeks from the order date and it was delivered to the dealer 7 weeks and 2 days. YMMV. Good luck and have fun tracking!
You may be able to track it on the Ford Etis site. All I get when trying is: F-Series Super Duty, 6.7L 4V V8 T/C Diesel, Ruby Red (Metallic)
VIN Number: 1FT8W3DT9JEB11531

When I was tracking mine through ford etis it never gave me any info either. Kind of hit or miss to say the least. I went through my salesguy and he kept sending me the updates by email.

on another forum someone told me its me it’s been released to delivery already so I just wait lol
I have an F-350 ordered, and was having the same lack of luck on ETIS. I saw somewhere that you had to be registered to see anything. I registered (free) and voila, a small bit of info appeared. My dealer told me yesterday that my ETA is 1/22. This morning an actual build date of 1/2 appeared on ETIS. My understanding is that after the date updates, the truck is built and has gone through quality control. Makes sense for the 1/22 ETA.
