E40D Conundrum
Used search, read for about 20 mins and i just dont see this problem, and the similar ones didnt seem to have been solved on another site (FSB)
1997 F350 4x4
460
E40D
Shifts fine when cold, after it is warm it acts up...
Has good take off, good shifts then will not down shift...
Owner says it "hangs in high gear"
... i am going to look at this truck tonight and i want to go in armed to the teeth.
I am thinking the sensor on the output shaft that fixed my 4R100... does this truck have one

There is no output shaft sensor on an E4OD. The transmission is fully electronic controlled so the best bet is to pull the codes.
