Hats the most common issue with this. Took off return line on HFCM and started pump. After running for about 3 seconds lots of bubbles coming from return. Put back on and went to fuel bowl on engine. Removed cap and filter and started pump. Lots of bubbles again. So where could it be sucking air from. Is most common in tank?
Picking up air from the suction side seems to be more common from the lower filter cap gasket, the water drain plug o-ring, or the HFCM manifold cover gasket - at least from what I have seen.
Well I haven't filled it up cause I can't trust it to make it to the store and back. But now I got bigger problems. Pretty sure blew the damn turbo. Experience run a way diesel for the first time. So she will be sitting for a while.
When I look in the second fuel bowl bubbles are comping from inlet. I'm using AE to turn pump on. So no cranking involved.
Tank is low. Showing low fuel on dash. Possibly so low it is sucking air from tank?
Only you know the answer to that. I frequently run 15 miles past the time when the low fuel level light comes on, but then I watch my miles driven and I know how much fuel I have left. I do not get air into the fuel system when that light goes off (or even a little after). That doesn't say you aren't and really, only you know how low it is.
As others have said. Not good to risk your injectors because of low fuel level.

Oh no, I missed this when I posted the other reply. So sorry to hear that!!! What happened? Turbo bearing fail and oil leaking into the intake air?
I'm suspecting the turbo went. I had it running in the driveway and watching the haze from the exhaust which all this long smelt like excess fuel to me. Then suddenly smoke and engine speed increases and smoke went dark grey and thick as hell I went and pulled key out and of course it just kept on running faster and faster then started making noise like low oil at this point smoke was so thick you couldn't see nothing then it finally shut down. All in about 2 minutes. So I'm suspecting the turbo drained my oil pan and it sent all the oil into the cylinders. Pulled the hot side tube and of coarse had oil in it.
Something odd is going on with your posts. I see that you jave posted, but when I call up the thread, I don't see any new posts from you. Probably just my wierd PC ....
I would consider sending the oil out for analysis - to see if there was much fuel dilution.
Edit - your post finally came up - after I posted - strange.
How much does that run?
I'll have to see how much is left in it.
I'm using the iPhone app so it may be something with it. I know sometimes I have to refresh it page even if it shows in the main there was a new post in the thread and I go to the tread I may or may not see it.
