Sunshine Village stays open until Victoria day every year and they run out of guests long before they run out of snow. They run snowshoeing tours in June.
We've got street cleaning in our area right now, these guys put out the signs at 8 am for the 12 hour notice and at 11 am the sweepers are here. They put out the signs at noon and at 3 pm the machines are here. Half the vehicles get tickets and a bunch don't. This year they're doing only as much sweeping as they can get away with in other words, they make 1 pass and then they're gone. Last year our streets got cleaned twice and then the sweepers moved on plus they put out the signs the day before so that we had time to move our vehicles.
Picked up my summer truck today. 2009 F150 Supercrew 4x4. It's the 5.4L engine, race red, XLT with FX4 package. cloth seats. cloth tonneau cover. Good Michelin Load Range E tires, remote start.
288,000 kms, will get some pics, but overall it's in good visual condition.
Sounds like a nice truck, bit of an office on wheels but with family you need a big cab.
There's a 50 ford down the street that the owner seems to think I want.
Yeah, it'll be rolling with all four of us most of the time, and the one is still in a "real" carseat, so that takes up a lot of room. if I could have found an expedition in decent shape I would have bought one of those, but they are either destroyed, or quite expensive. No middle ground.
F150 has more rear seat room though, which doesn't hurt. Room for my firewood and generator out of the cabin space.
A fool showed up about 10 days ago when I had my alternator problem and was still cursing my $160 tow bill. Fool has a truck just like mine and was looking for a C6 transmission, my truck is a 78 F350 dually with the 400, np 435 combo which is the combo available in that style of truck. Fool decides he wants my old 351m and C6 from the F350 srw that got written off 2 years ago. His identical to my truck turns out to be a 84 F250 with a 302 C6 combo. I let him know what he was getting into and sold him motor and trans that I have. I now have his money and he picks it up tomorrow about supper time. Not cursing the tow bill as much today as I now have the tow bill back and have the $170 that I needed to register the trucks in May. Gypsy luck can come in handy some days.
Must leave you with a good feeling inside, having a clean shop. Glad this place is shrinking down.
Fool who is really a moron in disguise showed up unannounced to pick up his motor, I was only 15 minutes away from having it ready to load. He was in a big rush so he was informed that the world spins at my speed not his. The guy had a wrecker truck, I wouldn't call it a tow truck. Instead of driving into my neighbors open driveway and backing into my place to pick up the motor and trans, he decided to drag it out into the alley and mickey mouse it onto his wheel bar with a chain and kept it hanging from his cable and went on his merry way. It's amazing what years of drinking does to your brain, unless he was born that way, in which case, dig out those easter egg baskets and pack em tight cause we're all going to hell in a hand basket.
Got most of my yard work done this week, hear saturday is supposed to be nice but sunday is going to be crap. Our main drag, 17th se is getting torn apart from 26th at the off ramp exit from Deerfoot to 36th so its a disaster. The other end from 52nd east starts soon. Sure am glad that I get to avoid the construction zone.
So, hows this lovely spring weather impressing you. Both the front and back yards are turning into dirt sponges, at least I won't have to water the grass seed I put down in the front end last week. Cats aren't impressed with the mud bog thats out there right now.
