He probably has it setup to sensitively, there may be a bylaw that applies to his frequent false alarms. I would probably put a note on his windshield letting him know that if his alarm wakes up the kids tonight that I'll be complaining to the city parking authority tomorrow morning. Please get your alarm setup properly like I did. Thank you.
As long as your not to irate in your note about it they should take the hint and shut it off for the night. If not, just pour some gas on his Cherokee and turn it into a BBQ, lol
My alarm went off one time and one time only on the first day I got the truck back from being installed. I adjusted it to be the least sensitive that it could be.
Yeah, he knows it's going off, I saw him out there messing around with it while it was blaring. Actually haven't heard it this evening yet, so maybe he got it fixed, or just isn't using it now. Fingers crossed.
Had an expensive day Tuesday night, my alternator crapped out and left me stranded eastbound on Glenmore and Barlow trail, right at the light. Had to call for a rollback to come and get me and drop me off at home, $160 'taxi' ride. Replaced alternator, volt regulator and solenoid with a set that I had in the parts shed. Will test everything when I get a chance to see which old parts are still good. My alternator had a lot of oil on it but it wasn't from the valve cover so it may be from a shot o ring on my dipstick tube. This thing went bad fast as I had no problems starting it in the morning and theres a lot of lights on this truck so it can suck a battery dry pretty fast.
This bit of a drizzle took care of that after winter road dust, gets rid of that salty taste in the air. It's a good thing that I have all these spare parts as it would've really set me back to be buying them every time something breaks. Got lots of cleanup to do around here so this should be a busy enough weekend. Having the phone ringing with work helps but it kills my at home upgrade days, got a set of blinds for the kitchen that the cats can't destroy so they're going in tonight. Picked up a 4' artificial Xmas tree so thats going in under the balcony to double as a dust catcher and sound deadener plus I scored a pond basin that I can use for the water feature that's going in the back yard.
Not much to report. I have started to think more seriously about getting my summer towing truck , and went and drove one today. Was in much worse cosmetic shape than I thought, which kind of turns me off. It shouldn't, but since I'm probably selling this thing in four months, I know how every rust spot and scratch just makes that more of a battle.
It can be a hassle trying to buy a short term vehicle, have you checked out any of the auctions. Lease returns are usually safe to buy, avoid repos and private listings if you do.
About to clean out my sheds, do some rebuilding on them, clean out my work area, put up my shelter again and put everything back together on the back half of the property. 10 days to 2 weeks of personal yard work nightmare, should not be fun.
