I completely disassembled my E4OD main control body to clean it, and I did not take pictures because I expected my ATSG rebuild manual would have instructions for re-assembling it. (I should know better, but it appears I don't. ) I've figured out where all the valves go, but the springs are a different story. . Does anyone have a diagram or pictures of where the springs go? I have a few of them figured out but the rest have me stumped.
Thanks for posting that , but I already have it in my ATSG manual. I have 7 springs and I have 7 places that need a spring, but I don't know which ones go where.
I tried looking up the springs by part number, but no luck. If only that parts diagram was in color!
Those are great instructions for the accumulator body and the front pump, but unfortunately I need help with the main control body (the large L shaped one.) Thanks for posting that though, I'll definitely use it when I get to the pump and accumulator!
If I was back home,I would go out and pull the one from my spare trans apart and post pics for ya.I won't be back until a few weeks though.Maybe someone else has a spare E4OD they can rip apart for ya.It would be pretty easy.Take it out, pull one set of valves and springs at a time, snap a pic then re-insert.Then continue until all are photographed.
You might even call a few trans shops to see if they could help. You might get a hold of a trashed/broken trans to rip apart and inspect at a salvage yard too.Just a few methods I can think of.
Well, I decided to give Transgo tech support a call to see if they could shed light on the spring locations. Within 5 minutes, I had a PDF containing the length, diameter, wire diameter and weight of every spring in the transmission. Kudos to Transgo for solving this problem, and to FORDF250HDXLT for trying to help!
