I did a engine swap a couple months ago, put a 96 351w into a 95 f150. Everything swapped perfectly except egr system was rotten so I did a complete delete.
Only now, engine stalls when I go from park to drive or come to a stop. Wondering if a 83 ohm 3 watt resisters in the tab/tag connectors might fix problem?
I have checked everything else from fuel pump, pressure, vacuum leaks, timing , all sensors from o2, throttle, air valve control, map, purge canister. Tired of chasing
the problem instead of just asking. And all injectors are working and rail pressure is in range. Transmission connectors are tight and tranny shifts a perfect. the other thing
I haven't done yet is take out the two cats in the exhaust pipes yet but cant see how that would affect idle. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks.
Have you checked for codes? It might not be EGR related at all. Stalling when coming to a stop almost sounds like the torque converter isn’t unlocking. If the truck is OBD II then removing the catalytic converter will set a code becaue the O2 sensor after the cat will not see a change from the upstream sensor.
The generally recommended way to to "delete" EGR on these is physically block off or remove the EGR tube, but keep the EGR valve, position sensor, and EVR hooked up electrically. This makes the PCM think all is well with the EGR system.
Sounds like the truck is a 1995 model, so not OBD-II and no cat checker sensor. For reference, even if it were a 1996, the missing catalyst codes are harmless (unless you go through emissions testing).
Right , thanks for a quick reply. I had the transmission checked by a local specialist. tranny is working as it should.
even in park when I give it gas it hesitates and if I give it more gas it smooths out. but still stalls when coming up to a stop.
It feels like a vacuum leak, but I checked?

I think you are confusing the air injection system with the EGR system and that is confounding the answers you are getting. The TAB/TAD solenoids are part of the air injection system and the only way they could affect your idle is if there is a vacuum leak being caused but them? Did you remove or cap all those vacuum lines?
Think your right, I just took it for a spin and it still stalls when I come to a stop. Only two things I can think of,
Losing fuel pressure or vacuum. I'm going to get an fuel injection pressure tester and recheck it again.
Runs good as long as I don't floor it or stop. Again thanks.
