tailgate emblem removal?

I have an 09 duty with a 2014 tailgate. I want to remove the blue oval emblem to customize it. How do these come off? Are they taped on or do you pull the tailgate panel off to access bolts? Thanks.

Double stick tape. Gently slide a dull putty knife behind it to help lift it off.

I did my '02 F250's, I used a hair dryer to soften up the tape and use a plastic scraper type putty knife....came right off. Just take your time........

Mine (2011) freaking fell off while I was at the stone yard. Luckily it hit my foot after I dropped the tail down. Just be careful not to scratch your paint while prying it off.

Fishing line. Won't scratch the paint. Slide it behind and use it like a saw.
jk.

My concern is that Ford likes to use guide holes in the sheet metal, as on my Recessed Ford emblem of my 2001 F250 SuperDuty.
So, on the 2002 is there holes under there or not?
Any one know about holes in metal for 2001 Ford oval?
I know the tailgate F250 emblem has three guide holes, and the fenders do as well.

The best way to do it is to heat it up with a heat gun or hairdryer then use fishing line to "saw" through the adhesive. Look up AMMO NYC emblem removal on YouTube to watch a pro do it.

I did the heat gun, WD-40, fishing line tricks to completely de-badge my 2014 Versa Note.

Once again, Ford as in FOMOCO is very smart and they drill three holes in each fender and the tailgate for the F250 badges.
