Hello
Just looking at different front bumper options for my 250 and have a question.
What are the angled metal brackets bolted on to the bottom of the frome frame for on the 4x4 models. Would there be any negative impact if removed?
I took mine off when I installed the non 4x4 valence. They are some sort of collision safety measure. I assume it is so we don't roll over smaller vehicles but instead catch on to them with this hooks.
I've heard a few times and I think someone linked a parts shop showing those as extra guards to prevent a small car from ending up going underneath the front of the truck in a wreck.
These things really bother me. One of the reasons I drive a big truck is to give me and my family a better chance in a wreck. I'd much rather go over the other vehicle than grab it with these things.

Having rolled a vehicle in my distant past, I can tell you that I would prefer to plow into something that to go over it. The chance of the truck staying level if it goes over another vehicle is very small.
