Hazard lamps
Hazard lamps
Having some trouble with my hazard lamps, I've had the problem since I bought the truck but never actually cared for it until now. Truck is an 04 f250 if I press the hazard switch to the off mode, the turn signal fuse blows and then I don't have turn signals, so the hazards are always on and never actually work. TIA
Have you taken the cover off the column to have a look at the wires?
Having it keep blowing fuses is not fun or cheap.
I have the diagram if you don't mind a little digging with a multimeter.
I'll have to post them in the afternoon. Stupid computer that I have that
stuff on is acting up and I just need to kick it a few times to get it to work.
So lets see if I have this right.
2003 F250 what engine and what trim level?
Most times they are the same but never hurts to ask.
Just thought of one other thing to look at/for.
Do you have any add on things like a camper or a trailer hitch
that use aftermarket wiring.

Are you sure that the fuse blows when the hazards are turned OFF? That doesn't make any sense.
Assuming you meant turned ON, refer to the attached diagram. The only way for the turn signal fuse (F27) to blow at that time is for circuit 385 (white/red) to be shorted to ground between the output of the flasher relay and the MFS (or in the MFS) on the steering column.
Take the column shrouds off, unplug the MFS, and check that wire for a short to ground (ignition OFF!!!) with your multimeter. If none is apparent, set the HAZARD switch to ON and check to see if the input pin for circuit 385 is shorted to ground internal to the MFS.
