keyless entry/remote start on a 2000 X

Howdy. Got this Ex about 1.5 years ago. Came with two keys, no fobs, no door code. Now i'm thinking i'd like to install a remote start system so it'll be toasty warm when we get in during the cold winter instead of poor old dad having to go outside to start it up and scrape the ice off the windshield.

So how do i go about doing this? How do i get keyfobs? Ebay? how to program them to work with my truck? What type of remote start system would be easy for a do-it-yourselfer to install? I'm not much into alarm systems, don't really need them around here and IMO they just make a bunch of noise no one pays attention to anyway. but remote unlock and remote start, THAT sounds useful.

I know nothing of alarm systems and anything like that but i've installed car audio decks and speakers so i figure it's similar...

I'm going to be doing the same thing in my Ex in the next few weeks, just recently bought a Viper remote start + alarm (didn't care about the alarm but I got a good deal on it).

I'd recommend looking at purchasing an FLCAN (flc-al(tB)-fm2-EN). You'll spend a lot less time splicing and running wires with it. You can find them online for ~$50. It also negates the need to have 2 sets of keys (but you're fine there) or keeping a key (or at least the transponder) in the vehicle.

Doing it yourself and using the FLCAN shouldn't be too difficult.
