New to the site. Have used it several times in the past. My question to keep a long story short is it possible for an over filled transmission to throw a transmission code and not let the trans shift past second? It has 1st 2nd and reverse but that is it. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I am stumped
Not sure yet. Just my OD light flashing. Have not had a chance to pull the code just yet. Just kinda trying to see what could possibly be
It could be a wiring issue. It could be a sensor issue. It could be a clutch issue. It could be an internal leak issue. It could be a bunch of other stuff, too.
Honestly don't think it's an internal issue. Unless it's a shift solenoid. Speed sensors were both around 1000 ohms. Has a new valve body billet reverse upgraded 2nd and overdrive shift kit and larger pump gears and a billet center support. So before I go through the trouble of pulling the transmission back out and taking it to him to dump 8quarts of fluid out so he can tell me everything is fine with his build I'm trying to get some other opinions and help on things to Chex while it's still in the truck.

Did you check all of these? You could narrow it down to just what's wrong if you had the codes.

Pulled codes and got p0782 and p0743. I had to buy another transmission to get hard parts from because mine were completely shot. And the builder said he may have accidentally used the shift solenoid pack from that transmission and it could have been what was wrong with the other one. So I sent the truck to him and he is gonna straighten it out for me
Took the truck to the builder and he has replaced the solenoid pack with no change. So he replaced the valve body to eliminate it as an issue. Still no change. Now he seems to think it's one of the wiring harnesses and where it plugs into the firewall. Is there anything else that it could be?
