Is it worth replacing new factory shocks with Fox 2.0 or any other brand shock on 2017 f-450 with 245 tires.
I just want the honest true if there is going to be a difference in ride and comfort and is it noticeable.
I am pretty happy with the ride now with 70 psi in tires and new factory shocks, but can it be better? Or just wait to get some miles and replace then when factory ones are on the way out anyway.
Some people say they see a huge difference, some say they see no difference. I think the main reason most people end up switching is due to it taking some people only a few thousand miles to have their factory shocks worn out (FX4 pkg shocks especially). I would wait til your factory are worn out.
In all honesty going to a fox 2.0 shock isn't going to make a dramatic difference. They are a nice replacement shock that offers a little better performance over stock but really the big reason is that they last longer and it isn't that much more to get a better shock.
Shocks are one of those things that you need to pay for to get better. The more you pay the better it becomes (up to a limit). My polaris rzr shocks cost me about $800 to have the fox podium x (much nicer than the fox 2.0) rebuilt with new springs. To buy new shocks I was looking well over $2k. Even jumping up to the fox 2.0 reservoir shock is an extra $100/shock for the f250.

I'll second that, I've bought shocks that were 1500 bucks each, but the important thing is expensive shocks are only better if you are pushing them to the limit, and I doubt anyone is running their superduty at a motocross track.
I think the biggest factor in ride, for these trucks, is the front and rear spring rates.
I tried a SD with the camper package and hated it. I then drive one without any options that increase the spring selection and it's soooo much nicer. Since I'm not hauling anything real heavy, I can live with the lighter springs.
I test drove trucks w the FX and plow suspension, no thank you! Rode like a board. Salesman was quick to steer me to a model without. That sold me, definitely a difference in softer smoother ride.
