Sometimes mistakes happen, and it wasn't the shops fault on a bad Dormant product, the shop at least payed for some of the work, most shops would of left you with the bill like some of the dealerships are accustomed too.

Completely agree with you on dealerships... Some of them will try to suck as much money out of you as possible!

As for the work I had done, it is inexcusable. If a drill bit wonders off center, a professional would stop, and figure out a way to recenter it!

The gasket was not defective at all... It moved out of position, because it was ruined during their initial installation.

I paid the shop a bit more than $2K to do this work, and in the end I still had to fix their screw-up.

Like I said, IMO it is nothing short of inexcusable.

A picture of the completed work. Took it for a test drive, and all is good.

what are we looking at here? That doesn't look like a V10 manifold as far as I can tell... and what's that tube in the foreground?

The new gasket showing the front three cylinders of five on each side. The tube is for the transmission dipstick.

It's a 3-valve.

Just... wow.

Usually, an exhaust leak is different than a lifter tick in that when you're driving, and let off the gas, the noise changes. FYI.

Same concern here. She ticks at idle and at acceleration but when I stop accelerating (coast) she doesnt tick
