Where does this wire hookup!?

So getting my top end put back together after rebuild and I gues in the madness the red wire from the distributor came unhooked from somewhere and I can find out where! I don't see a duraspark module or any other free hanging wires. There are only two wires coming from the base of distributor, red and black, the black is hooked to negative side of coil cap, red is just hangin. The positive side of the coil cap has a red wire from the solenoid and crimped to a white wire going to the ballast resistor. Where does this read wire at the base of distributor GO!!

Welcome to the forum. What year is your van and what engine?
I converted my TFI ignition to a duraspark a couple of years ago and so have forgotten without reviewing over the wiring.. here is a page that has some drawings and info that night help out. the 2 drawings at the top are duraspark and the two at the bottom are TIF ignition

Sorry, it's a 1982 Ford econoline 150 with a 302, it's a camper van so it has 2 batteries and I can't see any duraspark module anywhere. Just black wire from base of dizzy to negative cool, I term from solenoid to + side of coil also splice into white wire going to resistor. So the only other wire coming from the base of the dizzy is the red wire not hooked up and I can't see anywhere that it would go

did you get it running? I will need to re-read that page i gave you a link to. If I remember correctly, at the module plug, the one you have in your hand, the red and white swap colors. meaning red to white and white to red.. Ok i just looked at the diagram again and you can see the wire swap colors at the module connection..

Still not running, the module has a red and white wire plug never hooked up and another with orange black and green plugged in. The base of the dizzy has a red wire I can't find a home for, every diagram I've seen looks nothing like what I got

It looks like you have alot of wires that have been cut and spliced. Take the cap and rotor off the distributor and take a pic and post it. Maybe someone changed the ignition system to something else. Your stock pickup should look like one of these with a third wire for a ground and a plug on the end.

Hei Distributor!

So I've decided to just go with an HEI from summit racing, they say I only need a 12v turn key power source. So in the pics would it be ok to tap into the accy terminal on fuse block with 12guage wire with an inline fuse, the. Connecting that to the bat terminal on HEI?? It'll be here Saturday hence why there is nothing there. I've also read that someone hooked up to a 12v source when the key is on and also the I terminal on the solenoid???? I am very inexperienced when it's come to wiring and wiring terminology so paint me a good word pic, thanks so much for your time

Sorry but I cant help you with the HEI system because I have never done the conversion. Out of curiosity, do you have a set of 3 connectors coming out of the firewall around the master cylinder somewhere that look like this?
