What I hear you saying is that you bought the best vehicle on their lot....

I bought both of my used Fords from non Ford dealerships because the prices were so much better.

The worst thing about an F-Series is how well they retain their value when you're shopping for one.

I feel like I got super lucky when I found mine priced about $2-4,000 less than anything comparable, and with only 48k miles on it to boot. I did buy the only F-150 on the lot at a Chevy dealership, so I'd like to think they simply didn't realize what they had on their hands

Yeah I was surprised by the high prices last April when I bought mine. I would have preferred an XLT Scab with the V8 but they were all priced well out of my budget. And they were usually gone before I could call about them. The truck I bought has everything I needed, but maybe not everything I wanted. But for the age, mileage, and price I couldn't beat it! It was a work truck and has shown some signs of being worked very hard. But for the most part it has been pretty good for me. I had to drive almost 2 hours to get it, but it was worth it. At 5 years old, it just now has a bit over 37k on the clock.
