I got some new mirrors for my 2003 7.3 to replace the OEM mirrors. When i unpluged the old mirrors there was only 3 wires in the connection and the new mirrors; heated, LED, power have a bunch more wires in the connector.
I was currently planning to just change out the old mirrors with new one and wanted to have the power mirror function so I could, when my work load slows down, have time to get some wires pulled for LED and heated mirror function.
I am not sure what wires do what what on the new mirrors and the connector and pin out look different from the one in door to connect to..
pictures follow,
2nd pic is connector on new mirrors,
3rd and 4th is existing connector with old mirrors
If you go to the website BBB Industries- Premium Alternators, Starters, Power Steering Products You will need to register for a free account, once you get that set up then go to the link technical information, hover over that and you will see the option for TSB's & Wiring Diagrams. click on that and then put in your vehicle information and then you should be able to go and look up the wiring diagrams and go from there and see what you are looking for
I knew pocketlint was a good thing.. great site thanks for the info..

So i got some wire info from the site listed above and they are nice.. however I am not familiar with looking at this type of elec schematic . I am not sure how to read/interpret the numbers on wires, is this a pin location in a specific plug .. ??
My 2003 with power tow mirrors has only three wires from the mirror to plug in on door.. they do not match up with plug on new mirrors with heat etc. especially just trying to match up for power mirrors.. ( now i have not actually tried plugging one in to see what happens.. dont want to burn the motors up right off the bat.)
by the way the mirror I am showing is passenger side.

The link that Rickbrad posted if you click on that and scroll down you should see in one of the posts that someone has posted a picture of a connector and what colors match the function. That may be a easier and then you dont have to look at schematics (which can drive a guy batty after a while...lol )
Have a look and see if that helps you with figuring out where to go with yours, if not I am sure the community here can help you figure it out
3 wires is easy to experiment, the 2 motors share 1 wire (looks like yellow in your connector has 2 wires). The other 2 are likely up/down and left/right, you'll have to figure out which, it is easy.
Get some spare wire, test clips/probes to make it easy to change connections with mirror on the seat.
Connect 1 (of the non-yellow wires) plus both yellows to the new mirror, lets say up/down, hopefully new mirror identifies each pin's function.
Your stock wiring doesn't support heat, turn, or running lights, you'll have to tap in to a wire under your dash and run your own wire(s) for each of them. A switch to allow you to turn on/off the heat is probably wise, no need for it always to be on, IMO (I think my Excursion's are always on).
With one pair of wires connected, figure out what switch position those wires SHOULD control and what ACTUALLY happens.
Move your mirror control up/down and left/right, figure out which switch position controlled which mirror direction.
Reverse both wires if the direction is backwards, change to other (non-yellow wire) if it's the wrong motor.
Get up/down or left/right working correctly before you do the other.
Repeat for other mirror, because left/right is now opposite, not sure if wire colors remain the same or not.
Pin 7 Blue wire is parking lamp
Pin 1 Red wire is right/left mirror movement
Pin 2 Green wire is mirror motor feed
Pin 3 Yellow wire is up down mirror movement
Pin 4 White wire is turn signal lamp
Pin 5 Black is ground for lights, mirror movement and heat
Pin 6 Gray wire is for mirror heater
thanks man.. good info and a path to follow.. one other thing.. how do you get the pins out of the connector. I removed the red wedge and pushed and pulled a bit on the wires but it seem like the plug is slotted in there some how?
