I bought an '02 F-350 about a month ago. I ordered some new towing mirrors off of Ebay from Procar parts in CA. I ordered power, heated mirrors and didn't think the install would be that bad. I figured there would be a connector and I could use the one that came on the new mirrors or the adaptor. Well I took of the old mirrors and surprise, no connector just hard wired. So I cut the wires and hard wired the new mirrors, however the new mirrors had 5 wires and there were only 3 wires on the truck. My first question, is there a connector further down in the door somewhere? I didn't take the door molding off, just the mirror. Second does anyone know, or can lead me to a wiring diagram? I assumed on the new mirror which had 2 black wires, 1 purple, 1 blue, and 1 yellow, that the mirror probably had two motors in the mirror (one to control up and down and the other to control side to side). So I figured that the 2 blacks were the neg. from these motors the purple and blue were the positives and the yellow controlled the heat (or something similar). I tried every combination of the purple, blue and yellow. I finally settled with something that only moved the mirror up and down (and that was the best that I could do) and this morning after some snow found out that the heating element does not work either. Please help, this is very frustrating expecially after thinking it would be easy. Sorry for the long post but hopefully someone can help me. I do say though that the mirrors on the truck make it look awesome looking so I am psyched about that part. Alright any input would be appreciated. Thanks again.
