After you've done all that ZooDad mentioned, watch the video that I will post in a few minutes. Should be just a few minutes for YouTube to finish doing its thing.
Epic,
Is this video and the other you posted in this thread still available anywhere? Getting ready to try my hand at FORScan and just trying to get all my ducks in a row beforehand. I had tabbed this to come back to when I got to playing and it seems to have vanished. No worries if its been taken down though.

I'm sorry, I did delete those unintentionally. I noticed there were very few views and they were kind of single use anyway. I meant to just disable them but ended up completely deleting them. They were all about showing how to install the adapter for the first time and check the settings and adapter lights along the way. The bottom line is to follow the instructions on the spreadsheet and don't install the OBDLink software or pair anything else to the adapter the first time around. If needed, I can make another video but I will be gone this week so it will have to wait.
I had the same issue with the dreaded "NO ELM FOUND" issue. Initially I was able to make several changes with FORSCAN (what an awesome tool by the way...thanks to those who have invested the time into making this possible). That damn double horn honk was the first thing that I eliminated.
The next trip out to the truck and no connection. I tried everything I could think of and after a couple of days pulling my hair out I was ready to return the OBDLink MX back to Amazon.
Then I ran across the link below. I downloaded the OBDLink app to my Android phone and updated the firmware. Using my laptop I looked for new bluetooth connections and an "Unknown device" popped up. After selecting this it connected and the name changed to OBDLink MX and everything worked from there.
