1 - Remove the OBD adapter.
2 - Turn iginition on but do not start truck
3 - install obd adapter wait 10 seconds for light to stabilize
4 - start laptop and let it fully boot up
5 - confirm the laptop is connected to the bluetooth adapter
6 - start FORScan. It should be connected to the OBD adapter
7 - I can't remember off the top of my head if you have to press the little icon at the bottom of the screen to connect.
8 - Report back

I don't remember what the lights indicate but I tell you what. I'll make a quick video recording of all the steps to connect on my truck and post a link. You should be able to see what the lights do before and after connecting for comparison to yours. It will be a couple of hours though.

The more I think about it you probably should uninstall the OBD Link software. Might be causing conflicts with the FORScan software if they're both trying to access the adapter at the same time. Also, make sure you have done this:

"The final step is to plug in the adapter into the truck's OBDII port and pair the device with your computer (follow instructions for OBDII device). After pairing, select the OBDII adapter in the FORScan software under Settings (the gear icon) and the Connection tab. Once selected, press the Vehicle Interface and Information icon (the auto with the exclamation point) button and FORScan will begin scanning all available modules. Wait until complete and you're ready to go."

Unistall complete. Someone mentioned on the forscan forum that your wifi needs to match the wifi numbers on the connection page. Did anyone have to go into there computer and make changes to this?

Have you retried the steps above since uninstalling the OBD Link software? Make sure you are fully shutting down and restarting the computer in between these kinds of changes. I can't speak to the WiFi questions but I have no problem using the WiFi signal from my home while simultaneously working with FORScan in the truck.

I will jump in and try to assist as well.
Epic you are right on point. Definite conflict somewhere.
Oklarado. Uninstall the OBD Link and unpair teh MX connector from the PC settings.
Unplug BT from truck
Reboot computer.
Open FORScan check in settings to confirm NO BT device is present.
Turn Truck to On position
Plug in BT into truck - Let stabilize
Open PC settings >Bluetooth adapters. Find (searchor scan)
Press connect button on end of BT.
ODBLink MX should appear, select Pair.
Once it is complete. Open FORScan, check settings for OBDLink MX. Select Bluetooth instead of Auto.
(I personally do not select Auto Connect)

Post some screen shots.

After you've done all that ZooDad mentioned, watch the video that I will post in a few minutes. Should be just a few minutes for YouTube to finish doing its thing.

Edit: Here's the link:

Thank you that was helpful. I'm still at a standstill, I have followed all those steps, the device is paired with my pc, yet still getting the no elm deal.

Are the lights on your adapter the same as on mine?

-Flashing green and flashing blue when you first plug in the adapter
-Steady green and flashing blue when adapter is initialized and bluetooth ready to connect
-Steady green and steady blue when FORScan is started and connected to the truck

What part is different on your setup?
