ok the problem is that i put the key in my 99 250 this morning key goes all the way in as usual, and it doesnt turn.. like its locked. so i turn the wheel and its not locked and i keep trying to turn the key while turning the wheel nothing happens, i turned the wheel all the way and locked it not on purpose or anything so now the key wont turn at all.
i have tried: turning the wheel
moving the gearshift lever around (which is very loose btw)
pushing the actual truck back and forth with someone twisting the key
trying spair keys
spraying silicon spray into the keyhole
anyone had this problem or can think of any other suggestions?
The Key is locked but the steering wheel is not right?
Sounds like the Ignition switch lock cylinder. Only problem is without being able to turn the key to "run" you have to drill out the lock cylinder retaining pin and ignition switch to replace them.
PM me your email address and I can send you a PDF.

I think I recall a thread like this where someone did this very same thing... it was quite a while back, in the Super Duty section. I'll see if I can find it. The solution was turning the wheel a certain way while at the same time turning the key, or something or other like that. I'll report back soon.
Edit - I just had a memory flash... if your wheel is turned all the way to one side, say the right... grab the wheel and pull real hard in that same direction. It'll seem like it won't pull anymore since it's all the way over, but pull anyway, and even try wiggling the key. It might release the key without wiggling, or it may take some wiggling. I think this even happened to me once soon after I first got my truck... hard to remember.

it is the steering wheel ,if you get someone to turn the key while you pull on one side of the steering wheel it should unlock ,my 99 f150 does this and my 2000 ranger does the same, try it and do not worry about breaking anything ,just give it a hard tug,and remember to be patient, more than one attemp may be needed, trust me.
ok.. i tried wiggling everything even moving the tilt upand down ill try to just tug really hard with another person thanks ill give an update in the morning
my truck does this from time to time, i need to replace the ignition cylinder. You probably have the same thing. Try moving the key back and forth really fast and you might get it.
Does it act and feel like you have inserted the wrong key?
Since yours is a '99, you might have just finally gotten to the point that your key is worn enough to not work. This isn't usually a thing that "just happens one day", but it sort of creeps up on you. Has it sometimes been difficult to turn in the recent past?
If this is what's wrong, you can either go to a locksmith and have him cut you a key, telling him to allow for some wear, or take him your key code and have him originate a key. Any good, reputable, automotive locksmith can do this.
If none of this works, follow Alan's advice in Post #3 above.
Then it sounds like something's hanging up in the cylinder itself. You might try some Tri-Flow (it's a spray lubricant used by locksmiths) in it first.
A new cylinder is about twenty bucks at most parts houses, but the new key won't fit your doors any more unless you have them re-keyed too, which isn't gonna' be cheap.
Like Alan said above, the next thing you're likely to need is a drill motor.
no it is not worn it is when you turn the wheel hard to one direction and turn the key to off, though sometimes not always the cas but I have foud if i do not turn the wheel hard to one direction let it spin then turn the key off this usually happen utill the next time it is turned hard to one direction.
