Hey everyone i'm new to this forum and just got myself a 1985 bronco. i do not have a lot of knowledge about it, but i bought this truck with the carb and all taken off, and missing some things. i'm trying to put it back together now and i dont know exactly which parts i need to which goes where.

i need to know what i need for this outlet part right here and what it connects to

I see you have 4 posts, so you aren't completely new. But, welcome to FTE anyway.

The part you pointed to in the pic is the fuel inlet to the carb. You have a 351HO, meaning it is the high output version of the 351 for that year. That's good because it doesn't have a computer controlling the ignition or the carb like the 2bbl version did.

If that is a big gapping hole in the carb, you are missing the fitting that goes in there with the fuel filter, spring, and it has the spot where the fuel line goes. All that may be hard to find.

Autozone has these for $28.00. They may fit, but you will have to run a short piece of rubber hose.

An '85 HO should have had a mechanical fuel pump on the driver's side of the engine toward the front. There will be a steel line coming from the back, then a short piece of hose to the pump, and then there will be a fitting for the output of the pump that goes to the carb. Originally there was a steel line going up, but I doubt you have it so you'll need a piece of fuel hose from the parts store. However, if the steel line is missing there will probably be a threaded fitting on the fuel pump where you'll need to put a hose barb, that looks like this:

You'll want to get one that matches the size of the fitting that goes into the carb, which will probably be either 5/16" or 3/8". That way you can buy a piece of fuel hose that will fit both. And you'll have to use hose clamps on both connections to keep the line from leaking.

The OP has another thread in the 1978/96 Bronco forum, where I also posted this pic.

I have used the above type fitting and it will usually work if you tighten it enough. But technically the fuel pumps usually have a flare fitting like a brake line on the output of the pump. They have universal brake and fuel lines at the store, you could buy one that fits and bend your own.

But like I mentioned first, you can usually make the pipe fitting with the barb work, the brass is soft enough to where it will seal.
