I'm debating on what to use for motor mounts for my future 5.8 swap. I would like a durable pair that I won't have to touch again for a very long time.
I would prefer to stay away from cheap parts store mounts. I am considering Ford OEM mounts.
Has anyone used these from Bronco Graveyard? They do say that the motor will sit higher. I guess that means they won't may not work well with the Edelbrock truck intake.
They are a similar to some nice Ron Morris mounts I have on a classic Mustang.
I use those poly mounts, they'll likely be the last ones you'd buy if you got them.
Can't attest to the engine sitting higher, couldn't tell with the stock intake. I guess when I put them on my 97 that has the eddy intake, I'll be figuring out how much more to hammer my firewall.
Only "stockish" ones I could find were Anchor & they have an almost zero star reputation.
Same part #, multiple suppliers.
I hammered, squeezed in a vice, grinder-ed & elongated the holes to make them square & not hit/rub on the pan rail while my engine was on the stand & prior to dropping the engine on the cross-member.
What rips the mounts more than anything else is shock, I tore a bunch of stockers on violent bouncy hill climbs. I guess dumping the clutch with traction at the drag strip (or the street) would be another scenario that would tear them up.
