Hi guys i know this is probably a repeat question, but this is what i have.
I have a 2000 Ford F150 4x4 extended cab the passenger side head light is very dim try and turn on high beams and it does not react while on low beam the high beam indicator in the cab is on. Where can I look or what is the common problem for this.
I would guess the ground is bad and you don't have a full 12- 14 volts ............. remote possibility is the head light switch. ............. check voltage at the light plug or add a temp ground wire.

+1 here. Clean the grounds behind BOTH headlights and re-test. If it's still acting funky, pull the dimmer switch (multi-function switch), bypass it with a jumper wire and see if that makes them work properly. If so, you got a dying switch as mine was when I got it. I replaced the switch (Rock Auto is your friend here, I got an original Ford part for $12!) and modified the circuit to retrofit some relays so the new switch will last forever. All the heavy 'work' is done by a cheap, easily replaceable relay instead of a specialized part.
Nope. The 04 MY was the first to use a separate relay for the high-beams. Low beams were still controlled by the light switch/MFS series circuit.
Check the ground for the rt headlight.
Ford finally comes kicking and screaming into the 1980s, 25 years after everyone else...
Okay, joking aside, retrofit some generic parts store relays into the circuits. Open the harness up on the driver's inner fender, separate the correct wires (see the FSM for them) and cut/splice accordingly. They're not too hard to access, the hardest one to splice is the main headlight power wire from the fuse box. My truck has two identical wires in this bundle, the corrct one is deeper in the harness. Bit of advice: don't guess, confirm it with a continuity test to the appropriate fuse BEFORE YOU CUT by probing the wire you want to check This location (4" from the fuse box) really sucks to make a splice in if you screw up.
Overall, the mod isn't too hard. I did it i the dark in 4" of snow with only a tiny freebie flashlight from Harbor Freight.
Hey Guys, haven't posted in awhile.
sorry to hi jack this thread but I thought it would be better than staring a similar one. I just picked up a 2001 f250 Lariet with 180K on it from my brother. I'm having the same problem but on the drivers side. Dim lo beam and no high beam on the drivers side. Changed the bulb and still the same issue. Where might I find a schematic for this truck that gives me locations of the grounds. Thank you very much. Wyatt
