My transmission on my 2002 7.3 4x4 is pouring fluid from somewhere above the rear of the pan. I thought it was the pan at first. I pulled it off and replaced the filter. After adding fluid while it was running for 4 or 5 minutes it started pouring again. It's not the pan. It's coming from above the pan somewhere. It won't leak unless it's running. Is there a place it can leak on top??
If your vent hoses are like this one it could be coming out of the vent. Not sure why though. You're not losing coolant from radiator are you? What color is fluid, clear or milky
Im losing nothing out of the radiator. And the tranny fluid looks great. I thought it was leaking from the rear of the pan severely. I removed and replaced it. Refilled while motor running and got the level right and it started pouring out again from the rear of the pan again. It's coming from above.

After changing the filter and replacing the pan, I put 6 quarts back in it. Was that too much?
Before and after I changed the filter. I thought it was leaking from around the back side of the pan initially. The pan had no metal flakes of any kind in it.
