boost gauge

any body know anything about installing boost gauge? I just installed a 3 gauge pillar and the boost gauge isn't working. The instruction sat to hook up either to the map sensor or the intake. well the kit didn't come with the T for the map so I went to the manifold. The black y pipe that goes to both head and the turbo. Should work right? I pulled the line and started truck and not a lot of air shoots out but it does blow a little and I figure we're only taking about 10-15 ftp. I also blew the line with a compressor and the gauge works. I guess I'm asking if I need to move the line to the map line or what idk. its got me thinking maybe I'm not building boost can that be right? its got plenty of turbo whistle

Are you sitting in driveway or going down the road? Boost won't show much until under load or hammering down.

What is the range on the gauge? I started out with a 0-60 psi gauge (before I knew better) and it wouldn't really start moving until I really got on it. I got a 0-35 psi gauge and it shows the little boost I make just cruising down the road (2-5 psi) a heck of a lot better.

yeah its a 60 and I did think it looked funny when I opened the set .it seems like a lot of numbers youll never use. I think its probably much to do about nothing, I just wanted everything to work after putting all the time and $ into it. the two that I really needed anyway work great. after the 6 pos. chip and all the mode I did all I really need is to keep an eye on the temps. I just did the chip,3"dp to a 5" to a 8" stack, fuel bowl, fuel rail and 6637 air mods. anybody got any suggestions on what else I can do to make some torque.

Maybe you could contact the seller to see about swapping a gauge with a lower spread? The hard work is done, it is just a case of pulling the old gauge from your pillar and putting the new one in, the line should remain the same.

Even going down the road at 65 MPH I only see ~5 PSI, so that may be a bit difficult to register on a 0-60 gauge. Get on it a bit and you should see it move up quite a bit, especially at the top of 2nd and 3rd gear.

Longer mirror arms.

What I did:
3-gauge pod with dual EGTs and Fuel Pressure - these sensors existed nowhere on the truck until I installed them. For all the other stuff (like boost, exhaust backpressure, transmission temp, etc...), I use the OBDII port (link in my signature).

I can't picture this. Can you post a pic of how it's plumbed into the manifold? Did you delete the AIH?

don't know what the AIH is and it probably wouldn't show up in pic. I took off the Y pipe going from each head to the turbo. I wanted the line to travel naturally so I tapped the back so line would run to firewall w/o any more bends then necessary. I got to have clean running wire's, hose's whatever. I put it close to the top right where both ends of the Y meet on a somewhat flat spot. I've seen it done in the same place only on the front and the guys loop the line around. I'm not afraid to put in a little extra work to make it right. Its like it aint even there

You can see it in the spider in the picture below.
