Having tranny problems.E4OD

We are having problems with hard shifting into 2nd gear. Hubby is busy calling for part. A control solenoid pack. We first ordered the solenoid but its the wrong one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is a 1995 E350 XLT Passenger van. Has 100,000 miles on it. We will be pulling a 21 ft TT. I think the ABS light and flashers may have caused the tranny to shift hard into second gear.

Nope.. the only thing that can cause the trans to shift hard is when the computer commands it to. And coincidentally... the computer will command a hike in line pressure in the trans(which produces hard and late shifts) when it loses contact with one of the major powertrain sensors(speed, TPS, MLPS) or there is a problem inside the trans that it has detected. So... what codes are present?

Thanks fro reply. I think the code read 624, have to find paper wrote it on to be sure. Anyway it said it was the ' EPC, electronic pressure control solenoid failure'.
