Heater rebuilding

I have a new foam kit from an early bronco supplier and everything looks like it will fit just fine but I'm trying to figure out which side of the metal flaps to apply the foam to. Anyone had theirs apart that had good factory foam on the flaps? Mine was completely dissolved into dust so can't really tell.

Which fresh air heater does your truck have, Economy or Deluxe?

Deluxe has two cables located on a bracket mounted under the dash to the right of the steering column.

I rebuilt mine with the same kit, but it came with instructions that showed which side the foam went on. I will see if I have the instructions still laying around.

Here is a copy of the instructions provided. The foam is facing down in the picture and wraps around the end a little bit. That way it seals the opening when the flap is closed.

Hope that makes sense.

Figured I'd post an update. I installed the seal kit and used an upgraded fan sold by Toms Bronco. Did a new heater core while I was at it along with new hoses and heater valve. Everything works fantastic and the fan blows really well. I recommend that fan to anyone out there doing the heater.
