Why not ask alumiduty? They have sent me messages even when I ask dumb things like what grill is that when they tagged it in there posts. I like they post all sorts of styles and examples of what can be done even if I don't agree with all the styles.
sleepyguy would you then recommend the 01mm over the 20mm. I just don't want rock chips all down the side of my truck. thanks for the explanation I do have a better understanding now it really helps to no what factory is.
Honestly your getting chips no matter what if you drive on rocky roads. The more barried the tires are in fenders less rocks you will see but you still get rocks.
My 2008 had stock rims with larger tires. The rubber did not stick out at all but rocks still found there way. In fact I have seen rocks fly up and hit my windshield at low speeds when there is nothing for miles around.
If your just on normal road ways and have the wheels inside the fenders I think your fairly safe. If your bombing down gravel or large crush then it's only a matter of time. This is why I wanted to put bed liner along rocker panels and flares. I put aftermarket flare on my old truck and it helped but still got rocks...
I personally don’t like black wheels. I think it is a fad and they are their way out. But to each is their own
I own a White platinum 17 SD and for the months leading up to my purchase I was sure I was going to go with a black after market wheel, but since I've started shopping around I'm now leaning towards going with a chrome wheel to go with the chrome package on my truck.
Maybe mentioned already around fitment, but I put 295/65r20's (Nitto Ridge Grapplers) on my new '17, along with a new set (new-old-stock) F-250 Harley Davidson wheels, which I believe to be the standard +40 offset used currently. No suspension modifications whatsoever. Basically worked with the installer to test fit this size before making the purchase. Can post a closeup shot of the wheel and tire combo if anyone's interested.
I have the snow plow package, so it's almost level right off the lot. That being said, I went from my factory 245 17's to 20" rims with General AT2's in 35x12.5R20 tires. They BARELY stick out, maybe 1/2". No level, no lift, no rub. I did remove the front mud flaps. I will re-contour the front flaps with a heat gun a bit, as the inner corner rubbed a little at full lock. My rims are Granite Alloy 20's with a +19mm offset.
Granite Alloy 8-spokes 20x9" with +19mm offset.
Not a great pic to see offset, but it's only about 1/2"
You can sort of see the rear offset. I think it's about perfect.
Totally digging the tires and wheels. Just what this truck needed, IMHO.
beautiful truck. really like those tires. oh also like the state liquor store your parked at! lol
Reading through this thread has me wondering two things:
(1) Is there a way to predict ahead of time whether a larger size will rub or do you just buy and hope for the best?; and
(2) It seems in most cases the tire max weight capacity exceeds the rim max weight capacity (that is also true of the stock F350 18" and 20" wheels) - is that not a general concern?

Will a 35x12.5R18 fit on the stock rims with no rubbing? I'm going to get a 2.5" Carli lift in a few months, but would love to buy these tires now if I can.

Yes. Stock tiers now are about 34.5", so 35s are nothing in these YUGE wheel wells. Many are fitting 37s with just a two inch level, and they look great. But a 37 is too tall on stock wheels. It will clear the fenders, but it rubs on the radius arms at full lock.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/318999298460030/By the way, Alumiduty doesn't know jack. He is just steeling pics of every 2017 superduty that has ever been posted online. I got a lift on mine back in November, and it was on his instagram page that same night after I posted it online. He is getting most of them from the "2017 6.7 Powerstrokes" group on facebook.
6 inch suspension dual stabilizer bars... 37x13.50 on 22x14s rims.. it's all prefrence.. I don't care for fender flares/bushwhacker or light bars all over truck...but I don't knock anyone else who has that stuff... they make the note each month. I don't care for the skinny rims makes the truck look boxy to me... to each their own! As far as getting dirty it's a truck... I don't concern myself with how quickly it will become dirty.
Do your tires scrub or come close to scrubbing when turned? Did you have to chop at the fender wells at all?
22x11 -24 offset Fuel Kranks on 37-13:50 Toyo Mts. Needed significant trimming with a 6" lift.
What exactly did you have to trim off to keep the tires from scrubbing? Im looking to do the exact same setup but need to know whether to go with a 6 or 8 inch. Also what brand lift did you use?
You messaged me but your inbox is full so I couldn’t reply.
I'm running a 2.5" coil level. It's a level, but instead of spacers, I have longer coils in front. I also have the PMF 3-link radius arms which makes the truck track better. You will need an adjustable track bar because the level will set your axle off center. All alignment shops will know how to install these things. Most people only go with the track bar and level, the 3-link is just a very nice addition, but it costs about $800. I mounted 37s on the stock 20" wheels and they rubbed the radius arms, so I was forced to go with aftermarket wheels. I just got cheap Les Schwab Raceline wheels 20x9 with a +18 offset. That keeps them tucked under for a stock look, but moves them out about a 1/2" so they don't rub. They don't rub at all now. Not on the radius arms and not on the wheel wells. I wasted a lot of money will a different level and stock wheels, only to finally figure this configuration out. It drives fantastic. You can get the Icon Coils, track bar, and 3-link from PMFsuspension. Just google them. Or you can check out the “2017 6.7 Powerstrokes” fb group. There is a lot of information there.
Well, the DDT coating on the FUEL wheels flaked off due to poor adhesion and FUEL/MHT wouldnt do anything about it. Obviously theyve seen the last of my business...but I refused to run the wheels any longer looking the way they did. I found a local wheel shop who specializes in custom polishing and powder coatings which was able to remove the DDT (Double Dark Tint) coating and then repolish them to a bright luster. I thought you guys might want to know so you dont order the DDT coating from FUEL as it was way expensive and just didnt last.
