It's rare for me to travel that fast but... In Texas we have 80 and 85mph speed limits. There are times that I find myself passing trucks and I want to do it as quickly as possible. Some of the oil field trucks out here can be unpredictable and scary to be around. Hence how I discovered the speed limiter.
Subscribed to this thread in case a simple solution is posted up.
I'm pretty sure that most guys here will agree with me. These trucks aren't meant for speed, plain and simple. I appreciate your level of maturity about someone with a differing opinion other than your own. Very classy. Enjoy your truck! I'll enjoy mine from the kids table.
Believe it ro not but people are building them everywhere right now...a guy just put a coyote TT in a single cab that ran low 9s
Not sure anyone answered your question but depending on year this may work. https://superchips.com/shop/f5-ford-flashpaq It says you can adjust speed and rev limiter with an asterisk saying it depends so you might have to call or email. I had on on a 2012 duramax and you could remove the speed or the rev limiter, or both. Left the rev limiter on but removed the speed limiter. Nothing worse than needing the speed and not having it.
I am OK with my 2019 F250 Lariat 6.7 limited to 95MPH, as I am only turning 2300 RPM and can stay there as long as traffic allows. Have other vehicles to run higher speeds. Tickle story: On I-10 from Phoenix to LA, a Ram 2500 Cummings came up behind me, I was in Mercedes GLS 550 with tuned 4.7TT set at 570HP and speed limiter at 155, he passed me and I pulled in behind him, he was able to run 120 and then I punched it and went around him about 135, boy I wish I could have taken a picture of his face.
So so dangerous, I mean so dangerous it's insane. Almost hard to even comprehend how dangerous it is! O please go sit at the kids table. Anybody with some real knowledge? Thanks
I like your style Alex. All you asked for in a forum filled with Super duty knowledge and practical experience was a how to. What you got was an opinion from some one who had no idea how to do the tech question you asked. Then tried to have the crowd back him up by stating....."I'm pretty sure that most guys here will agree with me"..... I Do Not Agree.................An individual can not possibly pretend to know what most guys here will or will not agree with unless they poll all the members on the specific question asked, and give ample time to collect the data.
I saw a guy on tv once eat glass light bulbs (not only chew but eat) and other glass items and no one tried to dissuade him from his task. I can also think of a good reason to have to go faster. Someone steals my kid or dog and I have to keep up, or it's my truck and I want to. Maybe we'd be better off telling the people who drink way to much and drive how dangerous that is. Better yet the texters while driving.

Just be careful not to exceed the driveshaft critical speed. It will ruin your whole day. Here is a video of a Mustang that exceeded the driveshaft critical speed and the driveshaft came through the floor.
I once had a prototype truck with a modified driveshaft. I was not to exceed 60 MPH. One day I was entering the freeway and had other things on my mind. As I hit 65 MPH the truck started to shake and I immediately knew what was happening. I hit the brakes, but it was too late. The shaft broke where it was modified. That was about halfway. The rear axle pole vaulted over the broken shaft. I was lucky and didn't crash. Maybe it was all of the high performance driver training I had while at Ford. But anyway it scared the brown stuff out of me. If I had done this at double that speed I probably wouldn't be around to tell about it.

I completely agree with you Mark (also my name). Your warning stems from actual knowledge and is specific to catastrophic failure, and not related to a general you shouldn't do that. The way it is delivered is also completely different.
In my 20's I saw a car on the expressway violently lift it's left rear (side I was viewing) and stay up for a bit doing about 50. The shock upper bolt or mount broke and the shock fell down and as you know acted like a pole in a pole vault.
When I do the muffler removal on mine I am going to set the limiter to 110 or 106. The tires are rated to 106 but maybe could handle a little more.
On desolate highways around here you can get over 100 pretty easy. I took it off my 6.2 (5star) and would run 95-105 all the time. I made it from fort stockton to el paso in around 3 hours once.
I don't care how fast people want to go in their vehicles...run nitrous or strap a jato rocket on top if desired. Just don't do it on public streets because I don't want to be included. I'm guessing that's what the "speed police" were getting at.
I was doing around 65mph on a nearly deserted interstate. Seven motorcycles passed me on my right and left so fast they shook my car...my guess is they were doing 130mph. If one of them rear ended me, I might be dead. Again, don't care how fast they go...just leave me out of it. Plenty of race tracks for that.

Agreed..............The OP in his defense never said he wanted to speed. He only wanted to know how to remove a control device.. Same as me buying a gun and someone telling me how dangerous it is and I shouldn't, doesn't mean I am going to use it illegally.
I was on the Mass pike out at the western part, moderate traffic, 2 pm or so, all doing 70 plus had to be 30 or so ricers I saw them from way back coming hard they were doing 150 plus, easy, no plates, racing gear on all. About 2-4 minutes later a statie goes by in the hammer down doing about 100 plus, lit up, looked to be just following, 20 minutes later statie is in breakdown with one bike (he must of broke down) can you imagine the look on the staties face when he saw that biker broke down.
Seriously? It could be dangerous... in heavy traffic, or pulling a load. There are plenty of places it wouldn't be dangerous. I was really disappointed it stops at 95mph. I too would like to disable that function.
My diesel tech tried to disable it on my 21 duty he used FDRS but must have missed something it still limits to 96 Not done yet still going to keep looking for what was missed
