hello all, i have a 2015 f350 without the electric locking rear. 3.73 gears. I want to buy a electric locking axle so when engaged both wheels are locked together and when open (off), basiclly act like a non-limited slip. A couple brands I found are Eaton, Auburn, ARB (air-locker) But i cannot find them in a Sterling 10.5, 35 spline, which i believe is the rear axle my truck has. The websites for these lockers did a horrible job in showing all the products. I would like to find the product, get a price and get a price from a axle shop to swap in. Thanks in advance
I have a 2010, F250 that I am making into a hunting truck, it has the sterling 10.5 also. My hunting rig , 1974 Crew had a Detroit Locker which worked great. it was a none electric one, but I never had any issues that you always here of like turning sharply or anything like that. It just did its thing with no fuss at all. I will be looking for anything that works. Please keep me posted on anything you see from this forum! I will do the same!
The dealer is a place you haven't thought about. Aftermarket you'll see it listed as a 10.25. Don't worry it will still work but you will need the correct bearings.
Think about it, dont know if you'll find an e-locker for the rear, most all of the selectables I know of are air operated. $1700 for a dealer locker is a little steep, my dealer treats me better than that. It still isn't going to be cheap, if you noticed the Dana 60 one is over a grand. The 10.5 is a bit larger and if the factory is the only option it will be more expensive. I do see them on eBay time to time.
