I have an easy "full lights on all the time" for those interested. This worked on an 11 F150 and on my 15 F250. If you have the auto setting on headlight switch you can pop the sensor out of the dash and unhook it. the sensor is the little bubble in center of dash at base of windshield, it pops out easy with small screwdriver. anytime the switch is in the auto setting with this sensor unplugged the truck thinks it's dark and you get full running lights. you still have control at the switch for the other positions, off, parking lights. I tied a black thread on the connector and dropped it in the hole with a little thread sticking out and put the sensor back in to hold the thread, very easy to undo if you don't like the way it works. one thing that was mentioned in another thread is the dim display this causes, can be a pain on a bright day. anyone have access to wiring diagrams? I tried following the ideas in the thread on brightness but it seems maybe wire colors have changed. I considered pulling the radio to see if I can find the wire there but I haven't had a radio out of these late models does the surround just pull of? it's an xlt with base radio. If I figure this out I'll post it, any help? Jim
Even easier, a little slice of electrical tape. But your method is certainly a little cleaner looking. Can't you just increase the display brightness with the buttons?

I've removed the factory radios and installed aftermarket in both my 2014 and 2016 F250s. Both XLTs. Used same head unit in both trucks. It's not a bad job at all. The main tool is a 7mm socket or nut driver.
on a bright day and photo gray glasses I can't get enough brightness to see it, thanks poncho I'll try pulling the radio there's way fewer wires to hit and miss on it than behind kick panel. Jim
well that didn't work, pulled radio and checked wiring for voltage with lights on against lights off and nothing changed. the radio dims but I have no idea how it gets it's signal to do so. I even checked with a volt meter in case it was less than full batt volts. back to the drawing board.
easy enough but will that keep the dash from dimming while lights are on, that's my issue Jim
I'd have to check for sure next time I'm out in the truck, but I think because they're only on when the truck is in gear and the headlights are off, there is little or no dash lighting, as it's generally daytime.
If you turn your headlights on, the dash will dim. If I remember things correctly.
I'll double check next time I'm in the truck.
