Where do you guys mount Cbs and Antenna ?
#6
Cb is mounted in the driver side pocket on the center counsel. Still determining on the antennae. Saw one guy on the site mounted it at the same place as the radio antenna but on the driver side. It looked good. I may try mounting it horizontal on the inside of the cap roof, but the experts say reception will be lousy. Will try it temporarily to see how bad the reception actually is. If it is good enough I will mount it permanently there. If not, I like the opposite the radio antenna.

CB's are still being used. ????????
best place is center of Roof... Base loaded type of antenna. I know.. no one wants to put a hole in there Beautiful truck ( Cowboy Cadillac )
horizontal is a real bad idea.. will never LOAD correctly. so only able to receive, poorly.
mount radio to head liner area of roof... near inside rear view mirror.
IN glove box with external speaker.
rear side of center console.
Door pocket.
do I have to do everything. OK 50 years of doing this.
I still have a few 23 channel radios up on the shelf... crystal types.
and a Cobra Cam 88, tube type 23 channel base station. OLD....
several years as a Cobra/President/SBE radio warranty repair technician.

Yup folks still use them. We have the CB;s and UHF/VHF in the trucks, sometimes we take some long *** trips in the middle of nowhere, at least we have some truck to truck communication if someone in the convoy breaks down, cell communication isnt happening in some areas. So the company deploys both sets of radios and for the UHF/VHF the comapny brings in a guy from a communication shop to teach our guys how to use them and properly
I was joking on that part of CB's...
I still have many.. my own.. I turn "ON" every few months.. just to make sure they work...
as well as my short wave equipment..
and VHF (2 meter) equipment..
