Hello, I am new to the forum and will have a ton of questions for my new to me very stock 1978 Ford F 150 300 cid.
I am a regular poster on the MGExperience - 1974 MGB-GT - but the Ford is "foreign" to me, lol.
I would like to remove the fuse box for cleaning and I do not know what I will find behind it.
Is there a pigtail or does the wiring go to each individual fuse?
Than
k you, Tommy
The factory fuse block has no pigtail on it. To remove it completely from the truck you would have to remove the harness it's connected to OR you would have to cut the wires. They are all "rivet" connected on the back side. Welcome to FTE. A lot of good knowledge and great people here. And your truck looks awesome
Here is what it looks like still hooked up and just spun around.
If you are going to try to remove the fuses and clean the spring brackets, of course make sure you disconnect the battery.
You can see the very small lock tab on the side of the one already removed? Maybe if you are very patient and careful you can remove them and clean them.
Welcome to FTE, lots of good people here.
When you start cleaning, be careful with the fuse holders. If they are damaged you can get replacements...at least the last time I checked they were still available. The only problem is, they wanted astronomical prices. IIRC something one the order of $5-$6 each piece , so be gentle.
I used a Dremel with a tiny wire brush and contact cleaner when I cleaned mine.
