A few weeks into ownership and I'm loving this new ride. Trip to and from Charlotte netted me 25.3 mpg hand calculated running 75+ pretty much the entire trip.

In other news, saw my truck in the parking lot of my building yesterday and again today. Turns out the guy who bought it works a floor above me, so now I get to see it daily. Small world.

Good deal! 25.3 is impressive for an AWD CUV like that...our '11 AWD Sienna was only rated for 22 highway, and it rarely exceeded that.

Agreed Tom!
It does have cylinder deactivation (drops to 3 cyl at slight hwy cruising) and I know that attributes but near 80mph there's no way it kicks in. Below 70mph the mileage on the lie-o-meter was around 27.5mpg. My hand calculations have been within three tenths of the lie-o-meter which is a first for me. We'll see if that small variance holds going forward.

I'm seeing around 20.5mpg on my commute to work which is a 12 mile stretch with a mix of 35-55mph zones and 6 lights.
I'm happy that we went MDX over the Explorer Sport or Platinum as I don't think the Sport/Platinum would have even come close to this mileage, and shockingly this might be more fun to drive.

So, since I've been waking up to find my MDX missing and thus having to drive her 8yo TSX a bit more, the only logical option was to have window tint installed. 35% on the doors and back glass. Finally no fish bowl.

Man, you do a great job keeping your vehicles clean! That TSX is in beautiful shape for 8 yrs old. Tint looks great.

I know what you mean about the "fish bowl" thing. I recently had my STX tinted (no base tint) and went with 20% all around. I don't know how I made it 40k miles with no tint...

Thanks Robb. Cars are kinda my hobby and it's a bit therapeutic for me to keep them tidy and clean. I appreciate the comments.

The tint looks great! I can't believe how much it changed driving my Chrysler after tint.

So who's putting more miles on the new car you or the wife? lol

Russ that's a damn good question. Had it not been for my trip down to Charlotte, then I think the scale would be tipped slightly in her favor. We've spent a lot of time in it together running around town, etc, but she definitely has more solo time in it aside from that 700 miles I logged in three days.
