Got a question I was wondering about. How many guys bought an f150 for thier wife to drive? Its kinda funny I wanted 1 forever then once we have the kid she needed an screw. Didnt mind getting it for her, cause I know she grows tired of vehicles in about a year. Then all mine but in the meantime I get to be the mean weekend inspector. I told her I would make her drive my old dodge shadow convertible with holes in the top if she scratches it too much. Ah well just ranting bout a truck i never get to drive. Let me know how u guys worked it out, if u got the keys back!
I bought mine to pull our travel trailer and wanted to keep the miles off of it so I told the wife that I will drive the windstar every other week. She was less than happy...she loves her windstar, plus it has the VCP for the kids. She drove the truck one day and called me, ranting and raving about how it rode so much better than the windstar and how it was much quieter, etc. We bought the truck last August and I have probably drove it 5-6 weeks total. We almost have 6k miles on it...so I am happy the miles are staying off. Funny how things work out. She still can't park it in the garage efficiently...
This wife wanted a truck. More room was not going to equate to minivan for me. I like horsepower I can hear and love the ride quality. It took awhile to get the size difference worked out, there are scuffs on the tires and a scrape on the inside garage door. The plan was to keep the old car because I though I would still want to drive it, (I had done some custom work on it, too), but it just sat there and now its gone. The miles stay down on this one, too, I'm stay-at-home for now, and the mpgs don't really matter when 90% of the driving is to school and to get groceries.
I'm thinking I need something to tow now...............
I notice more women driving trucks lately. But maybe because I'm driving one now I just take the time to notice. I do get compiments from other women, they usually ask how it rides. I always say smooooth of course.
I've had mine Screw just over a year now and can count on one hand how many times my wife has driven it. To be honest, she is scared to death to drive it for fear of scratching it. That doesn't break my heart though, she just doesn't take care of a vehicle the same way I do. If she can squeeze it in a parking spot she will. I hate door dings!!

Man, I heard that... There's so much crap in her Grand Marquis I can't get in there to vaccum it out... Cathy used to drive the F250HD with the 4 speed and the 460 and no problem with the dogs 88 Bronco we still have, but the new Lariat Scab she says is too big.. I need to get her out in some open spaces and let her fool with it..
I have an even better story. I have a teen daughter who thinks life is only cool driving a sports car. However, She drove the 150 Lariat 04 and now she begs to take it out instead of her car.
Likewise, I was on a business trip and called home looking for my wife. She was also out cruising in the 150.
The higher my truck gets, the less she like to ride in it cuz getting in is a pain in the ***. Or so she says. I figure another 3" and its mine, ALL MINE!
Nothing like a chick driving a big truck though, and she looks hot driving it.
