I just came back from test driving one of these. It was really nice and I'm seriously thinking of signing the papers tomorrow. Does anyone on here own one? Any issues to be aware of?
Quite a few years ago, a close relative (in-law) was a Jag man. Had a big boat of an XJ6. (this after beaters and a Honda while he slugged his way to prosperity) He ran the XJ well past 100, maybe 150k in San Fran. Then he had some issues. So he traded for the later XJ with the V6. Not quite as stout as the earlier car, and a bit of trouble here and there. And then a bit more.
So into the dealer he goes, has the discussion about the car he has being a POS and he's had it with Jag. The salesman walks him over to the Subaru side of the dealership, and he takes the drive you just took. SOLD!! Or rather leased. They liked it so much that they were going to buy it at the end of the lease. Salesman made him a better deal on another one brand new. Sold this time. They love it.
The backstory: In that part of the world in particular, and in much of the rest of the world, the Subaru is seen as the car of preference for women with short hair and comfortable shoes, if you know what I mean. That, plus now Jag man is delivering junior in a Suby, led to some calls and questions about "...What happened?..."-- as in did you lose your job or something. Anyway, my late SIL, her self of the comfortable shoe set (actually work boots, she was a train engineer) heard the story and roared with laughter. SHE had owned a Suby, and she immediately christened the new ride as the "L series".
So buy that Suby and drive with pride. It helped keep my relatives financially secure and provided hours of bonding and laughter with the whole crowd.

They are capable of sustained 80+ mph cruises without stickers. I don't know how my relative avoids tickets....

Previous post was referring to the slow drivers who seem to populate Subs. I've heard nothing but good concerning their AWD. Seems they lose oil somehow, but that is to be expected according to their owner's manual. There's a class action suit out there about this. I also heard the stories about the rainbow club.

Almost every one I encounter on my 82 mile round trip commute cannot break 50mph, wanders all over the lane, and has rearward visibity impaired by rainbow stickers, "coexist" and Obummer stickers.
