I was pricing out a Lariat (yes, again for the umpteenth time!) and the Camper Package is no longer a selection in Ford's online "Build & Price".

I really like the Camper Package since you get the HD front springs and also the rear swaybar.

 

I don't see snow plow package either! Maybe just updating?

 

Not sure what config you are trying, but I know at least with the Powerstroke, the Camper Package will be missing until you change the axle ratio to 3.55 (accept the heavy duty requirement), then scroll back up and it will be there. The Camper Package doesn't appear if your axle is the default 3.31. Go figure.

 

Yep, you have to pick your axle ratio first before many options show up now. Axle selection used to be on the first page which cleared up this confusion but Ford moved it to 2/3rds the way down the option list on the second page. This really confuses things as after selecting it, you then have to scroll to the top and start all over again with the new options that then present themselves.

 

The 3.55 rear end is required to do either the camper package or snow plow prep. You also have to have 18" rims selected to do the camper package. Either the 18" or 20" rims are fine to get the snow plow prep. But you can't get both the snow plow prep and camper package.

Seem pretty straight forward?

 

I just ordered a lariat ultimate and to get the 3.55 gear they had to add the camper package.

 

Actually, you can get both the plow prep and the camper pkg. Build and price has been wrong about that since 1999. I'm sure the'll figure it out any time now....LOL.

 

They now have a "Snow Plow/Camper Pkg" option on the B&P after you select 3.55 gear. See attached screen shot.

 

That package also has a build and price error. The last time I played with the build and price and added the combo pkg, it forced adding the chrome pkg. In reality, the chrome pkg is not required when ordering the combo plow/camper pkg.

 

Do this. Finish building, then when your finished selecting options, scroll back up and several options will then be there that were not when first at the top of the page. Don't know why it does that.

 

Well that's dumb of Ford.....they should have the Camper Package in the line-up and then tell me with a pop up windows I must change to 3.55 blah blah like the do when you choose other options which don't jive.

Not clever indeed. When Ford completely changed the Super Duty website a month or so ago, it was NOT for the better. Build and price is wonky and trying to find specs now is much more difficult.
