Hey all, having a blast messing around with this old truck. I've replaced the ig. module (need to put some dielectric grease on it) and valve cover gasket, an have adjusted the curb idle down to 8k from 11 or so and the autochoke idle down from 20 to 14. Any reason why the PO may have had them so high?
I have I.D.d most components by looking over threads here, but have a few mysteries to solve
The red jack at top right is for a code reader, but what is the white jack to its side
What is the cylynder above the oil filter slightly to the right?
Pinstripe pic for 1985 Lariat, couldn't put a pic in a P.M. for some reason...
Thank you all, and let me know if that was too much ro cram in one post. left? Is the shiny cylinder with the Napa logo a solenoid?Looks like these belts are next...why are 2 here side by side? Was this an AC equipped truck at some point?
Edit tried to clean it up a bit, posted from phone

The thing bolted to the fender with the white electrical plug and the vacuum hose is a MAP sensor.
The shiny cylinder is starter relay or starter solenoid.

That is an oil sending unit.

Not sure on 6 cylinder engines, but on the V8 engines, one belt goes from the alternator to the main pulley, and the other belt goes from the alternator to the smog pump.
In the first pic they're both for the code reader. here's what my OBD I looks like hooked up:
do we use the 3145 model on these trucks? That's what google threw my way.
great handle, by the way. JF. Watch out for those phone cops! Best episode...(after turkey drop, of course)
Edit
On the PC, now I can see the model number 3145. had to wait for the kids to crash lol
