1948-49 (8ba ENGINE) 6 VOLT TO 12V

NOT SURE IF THESE PICS SHOW THAT THE BELT

FROM MY NEW ALTERNATOR TO MY WATER PUMPS IS A BIT OFF..TRIED SEVERAL ADJUSTMENTS BUT END UP WITH THE ALT PULLEY PUSHING THE PULLEY OUT A BIT FROM THE WATER PUMPS..IN TIME THIS MEAS PREMATURE UNEVEN WEAR OR EVEN WORSE BELT FLIES OFF ONE OF THE PULLY'S. HERS'S ANOTHER PIC OF ONE THAT LOOKS LIKE IT'S CORRECT(NOT ENGINE)

CAN ANYONE SEE WHAT'S GOING ON AND WHAT STEPS I NEED TO CORRECT THIS ALIGNMENT PROBLEM.

The "slingshot" alternator mounts for Trucks with wide belts is different than the ones for Cars. It appears you have one for Cars. Several threads on the subject in the past, try an Advanced Search.

Sling shot alternator

I'll check that out. .however the alternator and bracket supplied by vintage auto garage did come with a separate alternator pull for thin belt

It looks like the bracket may be backwards.

If you look on mine, the "y" (A) that the alternator is bolted to is behind the bracket (B) bolted to the intake mount. Yours appears to be in front.

When I installed my alt. I had to use a couple washers, as spacers, to get the proper belt alignment. Without going out to look, I think it was 2 washers on the passenger side and 4 on the driver side.
