Spare wheel question

Please advise if I have the correct spare wheel. Both are steel wheels. They don't look exactly same. All came with the truck that was bought used.

Markings on the spare
F65A 1015 BA, 16x7 J, Ford Truck

Markings on 4 wheels
F65A 1015 CA, 14 mm inset, 16x7 JG, 97, Ford Truck.

Related question: How do you keep the spare tire wall from rubbing damage? Mine has 4 rubbing wear marks.

Thank you.

Rub marks are occurring where? On the tires? On the rims? Or on the underside of the truck bed in the factory spare tire storage area?

Make sure the cable to the spare tire winch isn't pulling through or off the end of bell shaped metal that cups under the tire.

If you are referring to the tire sidewall getting a little indented from being pinched to the under side of the bed? Then It is kinda normal, as long as the tire is up to pressure...if you need to use the spare the indentation will come out over time. As long as it is not actually rubbing through the tire sidewall exposing cord. If it is actually rubbing through then I would be very hesitant to used the tire if it still is holding air.

To maybe correct it the rubbing through and damaging/ ruining another spare tire... either you are not getting it tight enough when placing the spare back in the storage area?

If the little winch cable won't go any farther up and the tire is able to wiggle letting it rub and wear or, if your concerned about the sidewall of the tire getting indented...maybe cut a 3/8"- 7/16" thick piece of plywood nearly the size of the tire ( at least bigger then the side wall of the tire), drill a 1/2 hole in the center and a slot cut to the center hole to the outside of the plywood just bigger then the cable of spare tire holder. Lower the spare tire, then slide the piece of plywood over the spare tire using the slot in the plywood to get the center of the plywood. Now crank the tire and plywood back up into place pretty tight. The plywood spacer will get 2 things done; 1) it will displace force acting on the sidewall of the tire spreading it of the broader area , there by avoiding the sidewall indentations. 2)It will hopefully allow the for more tension to be placed on the tire and hold it place better and not wiggle and not rub and wear on the tire if it does wear it wear on the plywood.

Thank you for the note. Because of indent, I guess I left some slack in the cable. The rubbing wear was not deep enough to expose the load-carrying threads. I will take on your plywood approach.
