Spare Tire Question

I am in need of two new tires as they have just over 50k on them. The other two have been replaced about a year ago do to getting holes in them. I was curious if the spare tire was an actual good tire or a defect that they put on there. My plan was to buy a new tire along with putting the spare tire on my everyday rims. Then putting one of my old tires on the spare. Thoughts? Just trying to save some money if I don't have to spend it.

It's a real tire; however, Ford does not balance the spare. I was 300 miles from home when i needed mine. I could tell it was not balanced. My dealer balanced it for me though when I asked what was up with that. Seems like for what these trucks cost, they could balance the spare!

Good to know. Well the plan is to take that tire off the spare rim and put it on one of my aluminum ones. They put a used tire back on the spare rim. I'm not going to run around rocking a steel wheel.

The pressure sensor is in the road-wheel also.
