radiator/water pump needs
I like electric fans but engineer my own systems with good parts, not those janky cheap kits. On my 29, the intital pull in on the fan is like 60 amps for a brief second. 40 amp circuit breaker seems to be doing the trick as the fan only uses 15 amps after the initial pull in. and I'm using a relay rated for 60 amps. It hardly ever runs except in traffic on a hot day. I'm using a 180 degree thermostat and a Spal 190 degree fan switch so the thermostat is open before the fan comes on. I've never seen the gauge hit 200, stays right around 180-185 when cruising. I also have an over ride switch but don't ever use it.
I drove a stock 72 F250 with a 300 for years with a 205 stat and the original tiny radiator with the little stock lip shroud, only overheated it once pulling a huge 1968 American jet boat with a 455 olds engine.
