Definitely buy a lifetime replacement one. mine went bad 3 months after i bought my truck, turns out the guy before me put in a lifetime replecement pump. They gave me a new one for free. not hard to replace, just make sure you dont let the fan hit the radiator!!!!! the fan is heavy and awkward when loose
We have a shop in our town that rebuilds them and does great work. I've never paid more than 50 bucks. I am all for supporting local business when they do a great job like he does. We also have a shop that does starters and alternators. He just did my kids 93 IDI started for 30 bucks and my alternator for 37.50. It needed a regulator and a new armature. I couldn't do it that cheap myself if I stole the parts so he is getting my business for as long as we are both still breathing.
Really see if you got a water pump rebuilder in your area. If you have a lot of farm tractors and big trucks around you then chances are you do.
Plus you normally get better service from rebuild shops, better prices then new or reman junk and you can support an american owned small business.
