TPMS and Camera Install Questions / Observations
Got my F250 Platty and finally introduced her to the travel trailer. Got the TPMS sensors installed. Was scheming on how to run the cord for the wired camera and have not figured that out yet as the route on the Airstream is eluding me.
In the meantime, I figured I'd at least get the TPMS sensors working. Seems to set up ok, but the major problem I see is that if I don't end up using the wired camera (seriously considering a voyager or another wireless one) then I have to have a huge piece of wire hooked into the "extra" hookup provided in the TPMS / Camera kit.
Question 1.) Is there a way to get whatever is built-in to the truck to monitor trailer tire pressures? IN other words, only install sensors and trick the truck into picking them up without using the TPMS/Camera receiver module.
Question 2.) If the answer to question 1 is no, is there any dongle or accessory that can be used to plug in the TPMS receiver and hide it behind the bumper on the truck? It almost seems like this could be done with a little inginuity if one could deconstruct the replacement for the 4-pin adapter and then shorten the cord significantly. This could then be tucked up under the bumper and all of the sudden you could easily monitor your trailer tire pressures without having a huge mess of cords lying around.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or observations on this.
