MPG and Fueling Question

Have a new F-350 and have put three tanks of diesel in it. I have the 34 gallon tank. The last two times, the truck stated I was 30 miles to empty. When I fuel up, I can only put in 27 gallons. While I can appreciate a safety margin, 7 gallons to empty seems excessive when I am being told I am 30 miles to empty. Is this normal?

Appears to be normal. Others are complaining of the same thing. There is a another thread here dedicated to it.

Agreed...that it is pretty normal. But...IMHO...it is just one of those things that we learn about our new vehicles. Once we know...then it becomes a non-issue.

OBTW: Welcome to FTE!!

Thanks, traded my 2014 Roush Raptor for the 350 with a Waldoch 4" lift and some other perks. Completely different rig but love it after the first 1000 miles.

Like mentioned above, find the big post talking about the 34. No, it's not "normal"...but it's what we as new owners have been given. The 34 when Zero to empty has a 5 gallon reserve. I think most of us as truck owners of past Superduties where used to about 2 to 2.5 Gallons of reserve. Again...not normal...but different.....
